Emphasis
The Theogony is an epic poem. Because of this, it is formatted in a certain way. Each individual line is emphasized for a certain reason. Authors generally break their lines to emphasize specific words or phrases.
Contrast
The only real contrast within both the original work and the modern book is between the black text and white paper. The cover on the modern book has some more contrast. There is the image in the middle surrounded by green. The words or in a brown color. It does not look particularly good, but there is contrast.
Organization
The Theogony is in a book format. It is organized with pages and a cover. The content itself, is organized in poem format.
Alignment
The cover of Hesiod’s Theogony is aligned in the center of the page. The text within the book is aligned towards the left of the page, so that it is read left to right.
Proximity
The Theogony contains a basic book layout. There is a normal small space between each line, as well as basic margins all the way around the page.
