Affordances and Constraints

Affordances

The physical book allows you to flip through to whatever page you need, as soon as you pick up the book. It moves you from page to page in the way that the book was meant to go. It is generally durable.

The e-book allows quick access to the exact page you need. You can also look for specific terms and phrases.

Constraints

The physical book does not make it easy to find exactly what you need.

The e-book is not as easily accessible. There are different menus and steps to take before getting to the poem itself. The physical e-reader can be fragile.
